A Crochet Christmas

A few days ago we published an update for our “Papa Noel” Headband Pattern, which now includes instructions for finishing an adorable Santa Ornament for your Christmas tree. Inspired by this festive idea, I’ve decided to create a Crochet Christmas in our office at IraRott Inc. So here they are, our NEW Elf-helpers ornaments! These guys are ways too cute and so easy to make 🙂

Here are a few tips on how you can modify our “Papa Noel” pattern to make Elves…

What will you need:

  • IraRott® “Papa Noel” Crochet Pattern
  • Any worsted weight yarn (beige, green, & yellow colors)
  • Jingle bell for hat
  • Hooks & other materials as specified in the pattern

Head modifications:

  • FRONT: Omit beard

Hat modifications:

  • To make stripes, join each round with a sl st in top of beg st & begin the next round with a ch; change colors in every round, using green & yellow yarn (or any other colors)

How to make ears:

  • HOOK: 3.5 mm (E)
  • LEFT EAR: Begin with a magic loop; ch 1; (1 sc, hdc, dc, 2-ch picot, hdc, 3 sc) in magic loop = 7 sts; fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing
