Three months ago our family was saddened by the passing of our beloved father/ father-in-law, who lost his short battle with cancer…you can never prepare yourself to lose a loved one. Life might never be the same again, but the memories we made together will last forever.

To keep memories alive, I designed Cuddles the Hexi Bear – a cuddly memory pillow for kids and grandkids made from Ray’s clothes. Every pillow has a heartwarming story associated with fabrics I used, so he will always stay in our hearts.

The bear in my Instagram Reel is a yodeler, he will remind me of good times yodeling with my father-in-law when we lived in Southern Ontario.

In addition to memory pillows, I designed a matching Hexi Bear Placemat. It’s a smaller project, but also very meaningful.

Half a year ago we moved to Northern AB to support Ray in his battle…and now it feels so sad and empty here. While moving is not my favorite thing, we will be on the road again next month…and I hope to make a Hexi Bear Rug for our new home once I finish memory bears for the family.
