Crochet Hook with Cushion Grip – My First Experience
Nothing is more exciting than receiving a box of yarn or new crochet hooks! I’ve heard a lot of positive feedback on Hooks with Handles, so a few weeks ago I ordered this gorgeous Etimo Rose Crochet Hook with Cushion Grip to try and feel the difference. I crochet several hundred hats a year & really hope to make this process easier and more enjoyable.

As soon as I opened the box, I realized how awesome is this soft feel of the handle! It’s very comfortable to hold this hook like a knife (knife hold) or like a pencil (pencil hold). My fingers felt relaxed almost instantly!
My new Etimo Rose Hook is slightly shorter than my regular aluminum hook, but it fits so nicely in my hand and absolutely no discomfort for a knife-holding style.
My gauge was accurate, it makes me very very happy!!! I also love the perfect shape of the thumb-rest and pointed tip of the hook, super comfy and easy to work with! It would be great to see USA hook sizes on the label as well as metric ones, but maybe it’s just me. This is a great tool for any fellow crocheter.
I am looking forward to another busy fall season and making lots of hats with this awesome hook! Here is one of my latest designs that I was enjoying making using my new Tulip Hook.
Love him! Will be adding him for sure
Thanks for the review. I have been wanting to try these hooks.
You are welcome. I made many hats with it & loving it!
I recently tried bamboo handles for the first time and loved them!
I like the owl in just the cream, but I’d love to do him in a rainbow mandala sort of color scheme, too.
I’ve always wanted to try one of these hooks. I may just now.
I am sure you will love it!
Today i bought a crochet with nice handle also (the Knit pro wave kit). And with the seller we was wondering in what the handle are made of? Silicone or Rubber. Because for a latex-allergic person i can’t use rubber-latex product including crochet with rubber handle. And for some reason (?) it is not mention what the handle is made for Oo
So what about this Etimo Rose crochet ?
Hi, The Grip is made from Elastomer (per company label on the package)
This is great to read because I hate the Boye ergonomic hook I got due to it’s very blunt tip. This is going on my birthday list…
Sounds like these hooks are very comfortable. Thanks for the review. Will have to check them out.
That moose is adorable!
Thank you Dara!
Thank you for the hook review! I saw some Tulip hooks at a local yarn shop. I had never heard of them, so was surprised to see your review lol! The moose is adorable too, by the way. 😉
Thank you for the great review. I love all the beautiful handmade hook handles however I seem to go up in gauge when I use them. 🙁 I still use them but have to really be careful when making hats. I will have to give these a try.
I use the Tulip Etimo hooks. Ever since I tried one I don’t want to use anything else.
I will have to look into trying those hooks!
Thanks for the review I will check them out.
Your Moose Hat is adorable!!
I will try these hooks, i’m always looking for better ones.
I haven’t tried those particular ones, but I love the Clover Amour, and it’s the same idea behind it 🙂
I just received the Clover Amour and it looks awesome! Going to try it tonight 🙂
I appreciate hearing about hooks that are more comfortable because I have some muscle issues with my right hand and find that traditional hooks make my hand cramp. I’ve been using Crochet Dude hooks and like them, but I think I need to give the Etimo Rose hooks a try.
Love this hooks
Adorable moose!
The beannie is perfect and looks lovely my lil nephew will look adorable during christmas, thank you 😀
I love a chunkier hook. It seems to hurt my hands if they are thin. I can definitely get more done 🙂
I want to try one of these hooks.
I need to try one of these hooks.
Thank you for sharing clear pictures with your review! I’ve been contemplating taking the dive into comfort grip hooks for a while now and have been looking for review that gives a better idea of how they compare to standard hooks in the hand. While everyone raves about Furls, I just don’t see being able to afford them anytime in the near future. The Etimo hooks have been second on most people’s lists but they still require a planned investment to get more than one at a time given my current budget. Thank you again!

Hi, could you tell me if the cushioned crochet hooks have latex in them?? I have an allergy to latex and am shopping for cushioned ones. Thanks!
Hi Fran, I posted a photo of the label in one of the the previous comments. It is made from Elastomer.
