Beep-Beep! Here is something different for those of you who like gears and motors…Introducing my new Jimmy the Hybrid Car crochet pattern!

Since Jimmy is a hybrid car, it can be a Rug (1) or a Throw Blanket (2). It measures approximately 50” (127 cm) horizontally X 43 1⁄2” (110.5 cm) vertically, including side mirrors and tires. Jimmy is big and chunky, any kiddo will love to snuggle up with their very own car…in addition, reading time is even more fun when you have a cool handmade car rug!

I used 5 skeins of Red Heart Super Saver Yarn  in Royal Blue for the main color + 2 skeins of Light Blue, 1 1⁄2 skeins of Gray, 1 skein of Black, and 1⁄2 skein of White. Working with 3 strands of yarn at once is easy and efficient, check out this post to see how I do it from a single skein of yarn.

The car base is a simple Filet Crochet pattern, which is a combination of Double Crochet stitches (dc) and Chains (ch), it’s an easy level crochet pattern that requires just a few special stitches. The pattern includes row-by-row instructions, pictures, and crochet diagrams for each step in case you like to follow visual charts.
